You choose your feelings just like you choose to wear a certain shirt when you get dressed in the morning.

If you look in the mirror and don’t like the shirt you can take it off and try another. You can do the same with any feeling.

Just because you feel something doesn’t mean it defines you.

You are spirit not flesh.

Flesh hosts the feeling so spirit can experience it within time.

When we say, “I’m angry,” in truth you are not “Angry the feeling” rather you are Feeling angry - something quite separate from who you are.

Angry exists because you have chosen to manifest its characteristics.

Ask yourself, does this serve me well?

In that moment it might, in the next it might not. The trick is to practice asking yourself this question.

The more you do it, the better you get at recognizing feelings that sabotage you.

You start to avoid “picking up and putting on” those particular feelings.

Suddenly, your life starts to change.

In big ways as if puzzle pieces start clicking into place faster than you can consider them.

What feeling did you choose today? What are you choosing to wear right now?

It is truly a rich dynamic to life.

Practice choosing only those feelings that give you peace, joy and beauty.

I finally chose the Kindle as my e-reader this past July.

I’m a practiced shopper so, I did my homework and took my time before I ultimately decided to buy the Kindle.

As an avid book reader, I read the reviews where people were concerned about losing the tangible book experience.

It concerned me but after lugging around a 1,000 page book it became clear to me that I was going to have an e-reader. I read iPad, Nook and Sony e-reader reviews and even some that I can’t remember their names. Compared the pros and cons and was leaning in the direction of the Kindle.

And in the process . . . I came across a link to a blog which suggested that a next generation Kindle might be out in August – it had to do with a series of serial numbers which suggested there was a next product in line for release.

Now, the current Kindle was there for immediate gratification, so I could have just bought a Kindle. But the possibility that a newer verison might be just a few weeks away?

Well I waited and sure enough the week of August 8 Amazon announced the Kindle Next Generation. I was thrilled and moved fast but not fast enough and had to wait until the end of the month to receive my Kindle because a lot of other people where waiting too.

I selected the Wi-Fi only Kindle and used the difference in price to buy the leather cover with built in light (which is awesome).

I was surprised to discover that the tangible book experience IS there in all its glory too. I can only surmise that those who cling to the paper just haven’t tried reading a Kindle book, because it has taken me a bit of time now to stop reaching for the corner of the page.

I have to remember that I don’t have to stop mid sentence to turn a page and realign my eyes.

I have to remember that I can just keep reading!

The less I turn pages and have to readjust my book the more I love my Kindle. And I love my Kindle.

I could go on and on…suffice it to say if you love to read and the written word is your friend. . .you have got to have a Kindle.

Two of the greatest words in the language.

When I say or see the word “courage” I feel a profound change in my vibration.

The same occurs with the word “compassion.” The vibration is unique to each.

The awareness of the physical change comes from the “practicing of picking up and putting down feelings.”

The more you do it - the better you get.

My sticky note atm is “Release judgements of yourself, they hold you back on many levels.”

I caught myself putting a barrier in place so as to shift my thoughts away from a possibility in my routine. This was based on a preconceived judgement of what was possible for me. So basically I was eliminating a possibilty before it even had the chance to occur.

When we wish for something it is so very conscious. Our intent is there much like in a prayer. To me they are one in the same. If we make a judgement before we wish - we affect the outcome of what the universe can bring us. What you wish for is the greatest good for yourself and the greatest good for another.

How do we judge “good?”

Sometimes the “worst” of things may bring us to the best of places.

Would you undo the things that brought you to this moment?

Probably not.

So we practice learning what feelings may come from the possibilities we wish for.

We choose them wisely for the greatest good. Knowing that the good may not be perfect and may even be messy, yet in the end we are where we are supposed to be, doing exactly what we are supposed to be doing.

Don’t forget to breathe!

I’ve got the blue sky blues. Not enough play makes a girl blue. What about you?

If you are looking for a job then my predicament is the greener grass…for me I just want to have the time to enjoy going barefoot in it.

I’ve also got a blue deck…and it is not a good blue for anyone’s deck. It is a lot of deck. It is a lot of blue deck. We go tomorrow to find out about what that means to Home Depot who sold us the very peculiar blue that just won’t do.

And then there’s my Andrew blues. Haven’t seen him in a while. That always makes me blue. Although if you asked him he probably wouldn’t think it true.

I’m wishing the waters in the Gulf were blue. Instead they are raked with orange through and through.

A ray of sunshine breaks through when I find the perfect doll for Grace. It is a doll named Grace and her dog. Nice.

More sunshine to chase away my blues as my dear friend has delivered her baby too! How can anything be sad when there’s a baby hug waiting to be had.

So, what’s new with you. Any colors to share?

It appears that the devastation occurring to lower-income families in this country is planting seeds that will grow much worse over the next few years and well into our future generations. Interesting reading today about how The Great Depression tranformed our country, our families and our men into very different people then if it had not occurred.

Statistics showed that they never were able to overcome the loss, the crush of changed identity that was the result of years of unemployment and under employment. Children suffered greater abuse - mostly violent abuse - more so then their mothers.

Echos of the past haunt our headlines today and the picture of the future appears bleak in the face of what has been coming to this country over the past two decades. The boom of the nineties masked the truth of what was happening just below the surface. Much like the story of the Emperor’s New Clothes. No one wanted to be the one to point it out and those that did were quickly shuffled from the room or were lost in the din of Wall Street’s excess.

I echo the sentitments of one of the authors I read, when I say, it is better to spend more or do too much then it is to do less or not enough.

It is reckless to our future to risk it all by listening to the noise made by those who are motivated soley by their own self interest. These are the very people who benefitted from the wrong-doing that set us on this path.

Without jobs there will be a pervasive downward spiral to life as we have ever known it to be.

Focus our tax dollars on our next generation and by doing so help their parent today.

We need to continue to spend tax dollars rebuilding our inner communities - brick by brick if necessary. Rebuild every school and give raises to our teachers. Support family farms, small businesses and home owners. How can this not create jobs?

Fund music and art because our children thrive in environments where it exists. Improve our parks and protect more of our national treasures - a gift to our children. Money well-spent history has shown us this.

Let’s teach our children how to grow good food and eat good food not processed garbage that makes them sick.

Let’s teach our children how to be resourceful with materials that are sustainable, healthy to use and free of toxic chemicals. Why not spend money on showing them how to be good stewards of the land - so that they have a place to live within community.

Let’s teach our children to seek truth and to critically think about the world around them and their place within it.

Let’s teach our children to be conscious and respectful of each other. What has happened to good manners? Congress should take a few lessons as well.

Let’s teach civics again so children will know how to participate in their government.

Yes, spend money on citizens willing to serve their country in many ways - not just with a gun in their hand.

I don’t have a problem with my police officer or school teacher or soldier making more money - do you? Let’s give them a major bailout - let’s let them win the lottery just once.

Now where do we get the money to do this without creating anymore debt?

If most people would just look at this country’s budget they would know. Nearly half of the budget is military - 470 billion the last figure I saw. We have close to 900 military bases all around the world - can’t we close a few for the sake of our own country - our children? Let Japan watch their own back door - does Germany really need us? France?

We, the people, deserve better than we are getting. The outrage you hear stoked by the media is born of fear and depression. That feeling comes from feeling useless, unimportant and unheard. The only tool we have to combat that fear, that anger, that resentment - is a decent job.

So, Mr. President, I ask you, I plead with you to spend on our schools and spend on our children.

Help our communities that have made great progress continue to do so. Even more importantly help our children to have fathers and mothers with jobs and purpose and self-respect.

Was just reading an article at CNET about whether one should buy a new television now or wait.

I am considering a purchase myself so I read the article hoping it would help me decide on LCD or LED.

Should I wait or buy now.

In the reading of the re-hashing of last year’s advice made warm with a 2010 date I considered that I wasn’t watching much television lately. The picture provided was of this stunning television all black and sleek and shiny. Maybe they want me to want it, but I don’t think I do anymore. Television is quickly becoming my secondary or third form of entertainment. So do I really need to give it as much importance in the room as say 42″ or 50″ plus cabinet plus, plus would necessitate? That’s a lot of room real estate for something that stays dark for most of my day.

So where am I? In front of my computer screen. I read alot. Sometimes an occasional video. Because I read alot I use Readibility. It makes reading onscreen alot more like reading a book.

Reminds me of the famous question asked of Sarah Palin. What do you read? But we won’t go there and give her anymore exposure.

What could my television do that would make me come back? Read a book on its screen? Have the book read to me over my speakers. Yes that would be awesome. Then my imagination would draw the pictures. But then what do I need the screen for? Hmmm….

I read where a family sold their mansion for a smaller house so they could do more for other people less fortunate. They discovered that the smaller house caused them to interact more, to live closer together in ways they couldn’t in their larger house. For them is was a joyful discovery.

Today’s facebook posting from friend Gina was

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the one’s who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Wow. Pretty powerful words to start the day. Certainly helped me to short-cut right to the answer I was needing on the television subject.

I won’t worry about the regret if I miss out on some great bargain. Or whether or not I have the latest 3-D technology in my living room. Instead, I’ll just pull out a good book or write something on my wall, read an article or do some work. That big, black shiny new thing isn’t getting my change or my focus. Neither is my room or my home.

I will wait.

I asked that they make their discussions and negotiations “genderless.”

I asked that they discuss healthcare for all Americans. Period. I asked him to put the period on that sentence.

I said because I have no healthcare coverage it is hard for me to rely on my local hospital for my cancer care. Without health insurance and coverage I know that I am costing others higher premiums.

Even so I am my family’s bread winner and I cannot afford to die.

I asked him to please be my voice and not let insurance companies speak the loudest in the room.

I wonder if anyone is really listening.
