March 2002,

We lost our dear Mr. Hobbes this month. There aren't words to express the anguish and sorrow over his passing.

We got together with friends to honor his great spirit and to create a marvelous headstone to mark his resting place.  We chose a spot nearest where he would sit and watch over the house and the property.

The days have been long with out his cheerful face, wagging tail and playful antics.  It will take some time to get used to this picture called life without him in it.  Thanks to all who called or wrote, your kind words helped so much.

So, we have thrown ourselves into spring cleaning and spring planting.  Lee and I dug up two magnolias and two dogwoods from deep in the woods and brought them to the yard and replanted them.  We also relocated a number of shrubs and plants that had overgrown their spaces.  We had one last chilly night and I believe no more frost should come.  The azaleas are all in bloom as are the dogwoods.  Spring is just so lovely here in Tallahassee, if you can stand the pollen :)

Andrew participated in the Brain Bowl which pits regional Middle schools against one another in a Jeopardy like contest.  Andrew was the captain of his team and they did quite well out of 26 schools they finished the competition in fourth place!  Spencer's (see pictures at right) artwork was highlighted at the Leon County Library's annual School Art Show.  Both continue to excel in school - this last 9 weeks Andrew had straight A's and Spencer had all A's and one B. Soccer has started again, and both are on winning teams which makes for pleasant Saturdays for all!

Lee has one stunning success after another.  Right now he is developing the various focal points for the new two-story Publix to open April 13th.  His ideas and artwork will be on display in a big way.  He now has his own studio supplied by Publix so that he can create his large paper mache pieces for them.  It looks like they will have him begin working on other stores as soon as he finishes the new one!

As I go it alone with Software Solutions Now! things are sometimes tough, but getting better with each day.  I count my blessings and look to the moment for my joy.

Here is a wonderful quote that I stumbled upon recently and it really resonated with me.  Most of my spiritual study now revolves around the soul and the measure of one's integrity....how much truth do we embrace in our lives and how much do we refuse based on fear.

"
The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the full light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny-- it is the light that guides your way."  -Heraclitus

In spirit,
Andrea

P.S.
Happy birthday to my sister Debra and to one of my dearest friends Kim!

If you have a chance download this file - Life is short - it will takes about six minutes, but it is beyond funny - a commercial for XBox and the special effects are amazing!

Here are the thoughts, images and lifenotes of my life.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what you find here.

Here is where you go to read past Lifenotes

bookpile6.gif (937 bytes)I recently read both the newest Stephen King and the Dean Koontz best sellers.  Both were very good.  From the Corner of His Eye by Koontz was extraordinarily good. And probably my favorite of the two simply because of the storyline and the lack of horror.  It was about a young boy with the ability to move himself in and out of this dimension.  The story is a fast-paced thriller as it is woven around the hunt for this boy, a detective and the sick mind of a haunted man.

Dreamcatcher by King was in the same genre as the story revolved around a group of boys whose friendship with an autistic boy changed their lives forever.  Both books were hard to put down, but that is to be expected with either of these authors.  I highly recommend either to you for a great read this spring.

My newest selection is softer, warmer reading of Maeve Binches Scarlett Feather. I'll let you know how that goes.  I'm pretty confident that it will be a great read as well since I've loved most all her books.
